Thomas Joseph Gallogly

Thomas Joseph Gallogly, 78, of Stuart, Florida, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 22, 2026. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, whose life was characterized by his love for Jesus and for people.

Raised in Flemington, New Jersey, Tom lived a life marked by courage and sacrifice. At the age of 21, he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he served in combat. Wounded while saving another man's life, Tom was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for valor in battle. Later in his career, he was also awarded the Silver Medal for Meritorious Federal Service by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Tom and his wife, Sydney, were happily married for 45 years. Together, they built a family centered on faith, love, and service. Tom was the father of Matthew Bryant and Sarah Chafin and the proud grandfather of Mako and Liam Bryant, and Ava, Olivia, Logan, and Amelia Chafin.

Above all, Tom wanted people to experience the love and forgiveness only found in Christ. He had the gift of evangelism and shared the Gospel everywhere he went, including on overseas missions in Venezuela, Mexico, and Sri Lanka. A gentle and kind man, he served as a children’s pastor and ministered to his community through compassionate outreach.

While Tom was stoic and strong, he was also a painter and a poet. He thought and felt deeply, and he had a wonderful sense of humor. He was truly brilliant and beautiful in every way.

Tom is survived by his wife, Sydney Gallogly; his children, Matthew Bryant and Sarah Chafin; his grandchildren, Mako and Liam Bryant, and Ava, Olivia, Logan, and Amelia Chafin; his great-granddaughter, Everly Bryant; and his sisters, Kathy Van Note (Van) and Mary Alice Reasoner (Billy).

To say that Tom will be missed is an understatement. He was one-of-a-kind, and the world will not be the same without him. Yet because of his faith in Jesus Christ, we do not grieve without hope. Tom was a true Hero of the Faith, and we look forward to spending eternity with him in Heaven.
