Tarze “Penny” Saxton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and confidant, passed away peacefully on June 7 th , 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. Born on December 19, 1941, in Ohio, to George and Amine Rance. Her mother eventually got remarried to Andrew Hollars, which blessed Penny with a step-sister, Judy.
Mr. Hollars moved around due to his work, so Penny lived all around the world. This inspired her extraordinary talent for story telling over the years. She described her talent of storytelling as her way to spread the gospel. She was saved as a young girl in the Baptist church but was an active member of the local Southern Methodist church for years. Penny’s passion for life and the Lord felt complete when she married her love, Patrick Saxton. They shared many years of cherished family memories, until his passing in 2004. She is also predeceased by Amine Rance, Hollars, and Judy Hollars. Penny attended Indian River Community College. After graduation, she managed the Trading Post in Salerno for Art Jackson, She also held employment at Albertsons and Walmart, then retiring after fifteen years at Walmart.
Her love of cooking was highlighted in the many social gatherings she hosted over the years. Not only was she an amazing chef and baker, she had an artistic talent like no other. From painting, to sewing, crocheting, and canning, she sprinkled her love in every moment of life. Her sense of humor and wit will be missed by all, just as much as the comfort of home she brought to her surroundings. The most important thing to Penny was that her family and friends feel her love forever. She felt blessed by her surviving family, her daughter Melanie Demarchi and husband Joel; Andrew Saxton and wife Mandy; and their son, Josh.
A Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held at Martin Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 16 th from 9:00am – 11:00am. The Celebration will begin at 10:00am. (961 S. Kanner Hwy, Stuart FL 34994).
