In memory of Stephen Comishock – June 20, 1946 – July 1, 2024

Known affectionately as Steve, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2024, at the age of 78. Steve

never met a stranger. His gift for conversation and genuine interest in others made him a

beloved figure to all who knew him.

Steve’s warmth and curiosity were boundless. He cherished friendships and was always eager

to try something new, and find joy in being surrounded by people.

His career as a lineman and later as a supervisor at Met Ed in Reading, PA reflected his

dedication and leadership. His colleagues remember him not just as a leader, but as a friend.

He was out in the trenches, in the buckets up high amongst high voltage.

He was married to his beloved wife, Judy. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and

partnership. Judy and Steve shared many life adventures and travels and had a group of very

good friends. They spent a lot of time at the “beach house” in Rehoboth and made many

beautiful memories there.

A passionate sports fan, Steve’s love for Philadelphia teams, especially the Eagles, was well

known. Game days were special times, filled with excitement and camaraderie.

Steve is pre-deceased by his wife Judy Hiddemen Comishock and his step-son Richard L

Hiddemen, Jr. He is survived by his brother Jack of Reading, 2 daughters Christa Leh of

Reading, PA, and her husband Harold, Kimberly Gauthier of Northville, MI, and her husband

Sean, as well as his cherished stepchildren Wendy Ambrose of Punta Gorda, FL, and Michael

Hiddemen of Honey Brook, PA and his wife Deanne.

Also surviving are his pride and joy - 13 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren and many

friends that meant so much to him.

Steve’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Celebration of life in Florida and

Pennsylvania – dates to be announced soon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations

be made to a charity of your choice in Steve’s honor, reflecting his spirit of generosity and

kindness.
