Stanley "Skip" M. Nowiki, III

Stanley “Skip” Marion Nowiki, III, 86, of Hobe Sound, FL, formerly of Linden, MI, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 16, 2024, with his wife of 58 years by his side.

Skip was born in Flint, MI on July 20, 1937.  He graduated from Gaines High School in 1956.  He went on to further his education and received his Nursing Home Administrator license.

He joined the U.S. Marine Corps where he proudly served our country from January 1958 until his Honorable discharge in December 1960.

In December 1965 he married his wonderful wife, Carole.  They would spend the next 24 years in Michigan raising their family and helping run their family businesses; Rainbow Garden Roller Rink, Stanmarie Convalescent Home, and Skip & Don’s Service.

In 1989, they headed for warmer weather.  They moved to Florida where they would build their forever home.  He wasn’t ready to slow down just yet se he began his employment with Walmart, where he was employed for 28 years before retiring.

Skip had many passions in life.  He really enjoyed listening to good music.  You would always find him with a smile tapping his foot to the beat. He could sit for hours and watch the boats in the ocean.  His greatest passion was his love for his family and friends.  He loved spending time with them.

He is survived by his loving wife Carole Nowiki, of Hobe Sound; daughter Deborah (Barry) Barkiewicz of Flint, MI; son Stanley “Chip” (Rhonda) Nowiki of Fenton, MI and granddaughter Cassi (Nick) Depaulis of Fenton, MI great-grandchildren Saylor and Arthur; brother Donald (Janice) Nowiki of Linden, MI; sister Dagmar (John) Miller of Linden, MI and many nieces and nephews and friends.  Skip was preceded in death by his father Stanley M. Nowiki, Jr and mother Marie A. Kovacs and grandson Tony Barkiewicz.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in loving memory of Skip can be made to the Linden Presbyterian Church, 119 W Broad St, Linden, MI 48451.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Sharp Funeral Home, 209 E Broad Street, Linden, MI with a Service starting a t 12:00 immediately followed by a burial at Fairview Cemetery with full U.S. Marine Corp Honors.
