John Philip Dubay, 69, of Jensen Beach, FL, went Home to be in the arms of our Lord on February 11, 2026, with his loving family by his side.
Son of Reynold Dubay and Joan R. Langlais, John was born on October 22, 1956, in Van Buren, Maine, one of four boys. The Dubays raised their boys in Van Buren, and in 1974, John graduated from Van Buren High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the military and was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving four years of active duty on the USS Denebola and USS Hermitage. In 1979, John was honorably discharged and went on to enjoy a successful career in residential construction, where he did plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work for many years.
John loved the northern Maine woods and talked about hunting all year long, always planning for his next annual hunting trip. He enjoyed fishing and said he felt at peace and at home in nature. John also enjoyed puttering around the house and talking with his friends and neighbors. He was best known for making people laugh. He would chat with anyone as if he knew them for a lifetime, and he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. John loved everyone, especially his family.
John will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and those whose lives he touched.
John was predeceased by his parents, Reynold Dubay in 2010 and Joan Dubay in 2022.
He is survived by devoted wife, Sharon of 32 years; his three children, Amy Dubay of Portland, ME, Ashley Dubay of Van Buren, ME, Cody Dubay and his wife Rachel of Monroe, NC; his three brothers, Michael Dubay and his wife Monique of Hobe Sound, FL, Peter Dubay of Tequesta, FL and Paul Dubay and his wife Sonia of Palm City, FL; his beloved grandson, Travis Dubay; several nieces and nephews and his dog, Lucy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am on April 6, 2026, at Family Church, 1950 NW Federal Hwy, Stuart, FL 34994, with a reception to follow.
A Celebration of Life will also be held this summer in Van Buren, ME. Date and Time TBD.
Our family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone at the Veterans Hospital and Hospice who took such good care of John. Our hearts will be forever grateful.
