James Robert Gendreau

James Robert Gendreau entered into eternal rest on May 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was welcomed into heaven by his beloved mother, Eleanor Elena Angelone Gendreau; his father, Robert Euclid Gendreau, Sr.; and his niece, Caroline Keasler Tillman.

Affectionately known as “Jim” or “Jimmy”, he was born on October 25, 1956, in Miami, Florida. From an early age, he developed a deep love for the ocean and life on the water, spending countless days diving, spearfishing, and water skiing off the shores of Key Biscayne with family and friends.

A highly skilled and talented electrician, Jimmy owned and operated Sound Security, where his dedication, craftsmanship, and strong work ethic earned the respect and trust of his clients.

Jimmy treasured time spent with family, especially evenings gathered around the dinner table sharing stories and fond memories. He had a profound love for music, whether listening to timeless classics or playing his guitar. A naturally gifted artist, he found peace through drawing, writing poetry and music.

Jimmy fought an extraordinary battle, overcoming challenges with the heart of an indomitable warrior. His remarkable stoicism, strength, perseverance, and courage inspired all who knew him. He touched countless lives and he left an indelible impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. He will be remembered as a steadfast and devout Catholic who endured his suffering with grace and humility.

Jimmy’s legacy will live on in all who loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family: his sister, Joni Elena Gendreau Keasler; his brother, Robert Euclid Gendreau, Jr.; his sister-in-law, Donna Burch Gendreau; his nephew, Robert Gendreau; his nieces, Genevieve Gendreau, Francesca Gendreau, and Brigette Gendreau; and his aunt, Judith Gendreau.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 5, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 2555 NE Savannah Road, Jensen Beach, Florida 34957. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 2303 NE Seaview Drive, Jensen Beach, Florida 34957.
