Frank Elmer Evernham

Frank E. Evernham, 90, a resident of Stuart, Florida since 1989 passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.   Before moving to Stuart, Frank had been a lifelong resident of Trenton, NJ.

Frank was born in Trenton on September 4, 1933.  He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Evernham, his mother Ellen (nèe Otis) Evernham Simpson, and his stepfather, Donald Simpson.

Frank is survived by his brother, Donald Simpson of Stuart, FL; his stepsister Joyce Simpson Glover, of Pennsylvania; his niece Sheri Evernham of Yardville, NJ; his nephews Billy Evernham of Burlington County, NJ and Brian Evernham of Yardville, NJ; and a number of great nieces and nephews.

Frank was employed by the New Jersey Department of Corrections for 47 years and retired as Assistant Regional Food Service Supervisor.  He was a very active member of the Stuart-Jensen Elks Lodge #1870, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1282 in Stuart, and the American Legion Post #0062 in Stuart.  He was also a member of the Orchid Club of Stuart.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 10:00 am at the Stuart Chapel of Martin Funeral Home & Crematory, 961 S. Kanner Highway, Stuart, FL, followed by the U.S. Army National Honor Guard, followed by the Elks Memorial Service.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Jack Barrow at 11:30 am.  

An inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum in Hamilton Township, NJ.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in loving memory of Frank can be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL  34994.
