Edwin Terry Reid, 74, of Jensen Beach, Florida passed away May 13, 2025.
Terry was born June 5, 1950, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Robert (Robby) Thornton Reid and Pauline (Betty) Pearce Gregory.
Terry graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School in 1968. He owned Reid Realty in Jensen Beach.
Terry lived happily with his partner, CeCe Adams, for decades.
Remaining to cherish Terry's memory are his partner, CeCe Adams, his children, Kim, Amy, Courtney, and Eric. Surviving siblings are Cindy, Gifford, Rupert, and Martha.
He was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Terry's Sister, Martha, would like to pay tribute to her brother. Her tribute is as follows:
Terry was a talented athlete in baseball in his younger years and then in basketball in high school. Mom took me to all his games. There were so many basketball games where I mostly just focused on the cheerleaders. So much so that I became a cheerleader in high school.
Terry was very popular and had many friends. Mom always kept a close eye on Terry because he broke rules now and then, such as mooring the Jungle Queen riverboat at Cooley Hammock Park at night or taking the day off to go surfing at Cocoa Beach.
My favorite memory of Terry is when he would ask me at night to go with him to make brownies in the downstairs kitchen. It was nice, but I also think he was a bit scared of being in the kitchen alone..(ha ha)
As an adult, Terry worked hard in Respiratory Therapy for many years. Patients loved him. Later, he had a career in real estate. This is where he met his soulmate, CeCe Adams. They have been happy together for decades. May the love they shared bring peace as Terry rests in eternal life.
Terry's Daughter, Kim (his CocoBean), would like to pay tribute to her dad. Her tribute is as follows:
Hi everyone. My name is Barbara Kimberly Reid. I'm the oldest daughter of Edwin Terry Reid (Bird Legs). This is very special to me. See, Terry is my dad, a grandad, and a great-granddad. My dad was everything. I guess you could say we are 2 peas in a pod. I love my dad very much, and his friends as well, who both live in Indiana and Florida. As we all know, I had really good memories of us together growing up.
I was 2 or 3 years old when my dad and I went to our basketball court, and he played basketball with me. Then, mom and dad took me to a place on the side of the street to let me ride horses by myself. That was fun.
I also loved to go to Grandma Betty's house down in Florida and go outside after it rained. It smelled like orange blossoms and gardenia flowers. It was a sweet time.
I also had the best time going to the beach with my dad and mom.
I love you, Daddy. Thank you for being my dad, and thank you, God, for letting me enjoy him so much. Please, now he's in your hands, God, and you can hold him and play basketball with him and have fun with the dogs.
Terry's Daughter, Amy, would like to pay tribute to her dad. Her tribute is as follows:
My Dad is special to me, and I love him, but our most recent years were the best...saving the best for last. Even during his hard days, he would have a great attitude. My dad and I had precious conversations these last many years, and we would wonder about many things. He would ask me about my favorite topics, what I was doing, updates on my family, and then updates on how he was doing. We would also often wonder about what heaven might be like one day. I may still wonder what heaven will look like, but one thing I know is that my father is in heaven with my Heavenly Father, who loves Terry Reid so very much...and my dad gets to enjoy it forever.
Please do not send flowers. If you would like to honor Terry, you may either donate to Terry's preferred charity for Multiple Myeloma https://www.themmrf.org or Humane Society of the Treasure Coast www.hstc1.org , or your local humane society. Those were the two places that meant a lot to him.
