Carolyn Angell Jeffers passed away on May 13, 2026 in Palm City, Florida. Carolyn was born on May 14, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Helen Peters Angell and Halbert Everson Angell. She graduated from Bexley High School in Columbus, Ohio. She was driven by academics and played every sport available for women; including field hockey, golf, cheerleading and diving. Following high school graduation, she went onto Northwestern University to study finance and joined Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, where she made life long friends. After Sophomore year she transferred to Ohio State where she continued to study finance, receiving straight A’s and becoming the first woman to major in finance. In 1961, she received the Pace Setters award, which honored the college’s top business student making her the top 5% of Ohio State business schools alumni population.
In 1964, Carolyn was invited to the Bachelors and Spinsters group in Columbus, Ohio where she met her husband Glenn Jeffers. They instantly connected over business and both had a strong ambition and drive. Six months later they got married and she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. Carolyn had multiple job offers in finance and chose a career as a handbag and small leather goods buyer for the Federated Corporation. Her career took her to Italy for 3 months a year and allowed her to see her life through a wider lens. She juggled her career, while financially supporting her husband in starting his Commercial Real Estate company which later became known as American Techtonics.
In 1974, she quit her career to raise her daughters Cindy and Jill. She ran a busy household including juggling lengthy to-do lists, throwing parties, planning the next adventure, volunteering, supporting Glenn through his real estate business, studying the stock market and trading stocks and creating and exploring new business ventures. She was a strong athlete who loved snow skiing, cycling, climbing and hiking in Aspen and summers at Columbus Beach Club in Michigan waterskiing, kayaking, playing tennis, boating and enjoying time with family and friends. But above everything else she loved being a mom and watching her kids grow and flourish. She enjoyed watching their tennis matches and was always on the sidelines at every sporting event, show and performance cheering them on.
She loved life and lived for family and friends. Whether it was taking walks with friends, going out for dinner, playing bridge, snowskiing, playing tennis or just talking on the phone she always made time for everyone and cherished her friendships. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother and unforgettable friend. Among her favorite things in life were her summers spent with her grandsons in Michigan playing board games on the porch, watching the boys waterskiing, going to the beach, riding bikes, playing bingo, bantering about the stock market, dinners on the back porch and sitting around the bonfire in the evenings.
Carolyn lived her life to the fullest finding the positives in everyone she met and everything she faced. She was a true warrior whether it was climbing to the base camp of Mt. Everest or her 39 year battle with breast cancer she always faced life with bravery, grit, determination and heart. She never took "no” for an answer and refused to let anything stand in her way. She lived everyday as if it was her last smiling through the ups and downs and laughing through it all.
Carolyn will be remembered for the sunshine and happiness she brought to others, for leading an extraordinary life of adventure and for leaving a lasting impression on those who knew her. She exuded and shared her kindness, warmth, positive energy, smiles and laughs with everyone she encountered. Her energy, strength, resilience and determination to live were an inspiration. She found happiness in all aspects of her life. While she will be dearly missed, her positive spirit and energy will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held for Carolyn at St. Mary's Episcopal Church on Friday, May 22nd at 11:00am, in Stuart, FL (623 SE Ocean Blvd, Stuart, FL 34994).
